Goldenrod contains many valuable plant compounds, including saponins, which have antifungal effects, and flavonoids, which have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory functions.

Description:
A bunch of goldenrods consisting of 8 – 12 stems freshly picked and packaged.

Care:
Tips to make the flowers stay fresh and last longer:

  1. Trim 1-2 inches off the stem and make sure to cut at an angle before placing them in the vase.
  2. Remove the leaves below the waterline.
  3. Replace the water every 2-3 days.
  4. Avoid placing the flowers under direct sunlight.

Fun fact:

  • Legends surround Goldenrod. Another belief is whenever the Golden rod grows near a house, its occupants will have good fortune.
  • Native Americans chewed the leaves to help relieve sore throats and toothaches.
  • Herbal tea can be made with flowers. Flowers can also be used to make a yellow dye.
  • Certain species of Goldenrod leaves contain rubber.
